Ceritanya lagi ngobrol soal ujian hidup. Setelah di renung-renung, ditelaah-telaah, dari kita berempat bersaudara tuh ujiannya macem2. Saya anak pertama, ujiannya A, anak kedua ujiannya B, anak ketiga ujiannya C, anak keempat ujiannya D. Ibu saya, ujiannya E, bapak saya ujiannya F. Jenis masalahnya sih beragam, berjuta macam…tapi targetnya ternyata gak banyak. Hanya yang sudah disebutkan bolak balik di Qur’an dan yang dinasehatkan bolak balik oleh Rasulullah  saw. Target yang paling menonjol yang cukup terkenal ya, yang sabar dan syukur. How to get sabr and syukr itu juga caranya bisa bermacam macam dan berjuta cara.

Nah , kembali ke soal ujian, saya lalu bertanya: lantas sampai kapan ujian berakhir??? adik saya bilang : Sampai the best potensi kita as khalifah keluar. Kita semua punya cahaya dalam jiwa, punya pelita, so the test itu untuk pushing kita supaya cahaya yang kita miliki hidup lagi, bersinar dan kembali menerangi lagi in a way kita bisa melihatNYA. Dia menyebut salah satu ayat qur’an yang mention soal ini tapi saya lupa.

Saya sendiri mencoba mencari jawaban “sampai kapan ujian itu berakhir” lewat artikel2 Islam, and beberapa bunyinya seperti ini:

  • Allah does not impose on any self any more than it can stand. For it is what it has earned; against it, what it has merited. Our Lord, do not take us to task if we forget or make a mistake! Our Lord, do not place on us a load like the one You placed on those before us! Our Lord, do not place on us a load we have not the strength to bear! And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy on us. You are our Master , so help us against the people of unbelievers. (Surat al-Baqara, 286)
  • Allah has revealed in the Qur’an that He will test Muslims in various ways until the end of their lives. But there is one important secret on this subject that believers need to know: If someone encounters a difficulty, or something that is hard to deal with, that means that Allah has also given them the strength to overcome the matter and succeed in the test.
  • For truly with hardship comes ease; truly with hardship comes ease. So when you have finished, work on, and make your Lord your goal! (Surat al-Inshirah, 5-8)
We will ease you to the Easy Way. (Surat Al-A‘la, 8)

  • there is a vast difference in your striving. As for him who gives out and has taqwa (awe and fear for Allah) and confirms the Good, We will pave his way to Ease. (Surat al-Layl, 4-7)
But as for him who is stingy and self-satisfied, and denies the Good, We will pave his way to Difficulty. (Surat al-Layl, 8-10)

  • Verily, We created man from a drop of mingled sperm so that We may test him; and therefore We made him hearing and seeing. We have indeed showed him the way, now he be grateful or ungrateful. (76:3)
  • Verily, We shall put you to test with some fear, and hunger, and with some loss of wealth, lives, and offspring. And (O Muhammad) convey good tidings to those who are patient, who say, when inflicted by hardship, “Verily we are of God and verily to Him shall we return;” upon them is the blessings of Allah and His mercy. (2:155)
  • “And whatever misfortune befalls you it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much.” [Al-Qur’an42:30]
  • “And we tested them with good (blessings) and evil (calamities) in order that they might turn back.” [Al-Qur’an 7:168]
  • “O ye who believe! Let not your wealth or your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah. And whosoever does that, then they are the losers.” [Al-Qur’an 63:9]
  • Alif, Lam, Mim. Do people think that they will be left alone because they say, ‘We believe,’ and will not be tested? Indeed We tested those who (lived) before them.” [Al-Qur’an 29:1-3]
  • “O you who believe! Seek Help in patience and salah. Truly, Allah is with those that are patient.” [Al-Qur’an 2:153]
  • “Great reward comes with great trials. When Allah loves a people, He tests them, and whoever accepts it attains His pleasure, whereas whoever shows discontent with it incurs His wrath.”Narrated and classed as hasan by at-Tirmidhi (2396); classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in as-Silsilah as-Saheehah, no. 146
  • “…Only those who are patient shall receive their reward in full, without reckoning” Quran (Surah Az-Zumar:10)”
  • “How wonderful is the affair of the believer, for his affairs are all good, and this applies to no one but the believer. If something good happens to him, he is thankful for it and that is good for him. If something bad happens to him, he bears it with patience and that is good for him.” (Narrated by Muslim, 2999).
  • “If Allah wills good for His slave, He hastens his punishment in this world, and if He wills bad for His slave, He withholds from him (the punishment for) his sin, until He requites him for it on the Day of Resurrection.” Narrated and classed as hasan by at-Tirmidhi (2396); classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh at-Tirmidhi.
  • “… if you are suffering (hardships) then surely, they (too) are suffering (hardships) as you are suffering, but you have a hope from Allah (for the reward) that for which they hope not; and Allah is Ever All-Knowing, All-Wise” Quran (Surah An-Nisa:104).
  • “… and give glad tidings to As-Sabirun (the patient).”
  • Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: “Truly! To Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return.”
  • They are those on whom are the Salawat (i.e. who are blessed and will be forgiven) from their Lord, and (they are those who) receive His Mercy, and it is they who are the guided ones. Quran (Surah Al-Baqara:155-157)
